Construction equipment sales grow in the second quarter of 2018
Sales of construction equipment grew by 3.8% in the second quarter of 2018, compared to the same period in 2017.
According to the Construction Equipment Association (CEA), the most popular machines were crawler excavators (over 10 tonnes), telehandlers and mini/midi excavators (below 10 tonnes).
Since the start of the year, construction equipment sales have also grown by 5% compared to the first half of 2017, with over 16,000 units sold.
Crawler excavator sales showed the greatest growth by 11% in Q2, whilst telehandlers and mini/mini excavators grew by 10% and 3% respectively.
