We represent the finance sector in 2017 Parliamentary Review

Midlands Asset Finance (MAF) has appeared in the 2017 edition of the prestigious 2017 Parliamentary Review, representing the finance sector.

As a firm that helps SMEs across the UK to access the funding that they need to grow, MAF has taken the opportunity to talk about how financial technology (fintech) has changed the lending market and transformed the way people do business.

Director, Sue Chapman, who set up the company in 2009, was invited to submit a report to the publication about best practice, culture and the challenges the business has faced over the past 12 months and how it has overcome them.

In the recently published review, Sue talks about how the firm has grown to 21 staff and how its new online digital platform, Asset Finance Compared, has made accessing asset finance even more flexible by delivering a Decision in Principle in 60 seconds.

She also talks about the importance of access to finance for small firms and how it can unlock investment, new jobs and economic growth.

Sue said: “We are thrilled to be featured in the 2017 Parliamentary Review. It is a huge honour for Midlands Asset Finance to be involved.

“Only a handful of companies across the UK are selected to take part each year and to receive this level of recognition is a reward in itself for what we have achieved as a team and in the financial intermediary market.

“2017 has been a great year for us so far. Our team continues to grow and we have expanded into bigger premises following the launch of Asset Finance Compared.

“Strategically, the new platform complements our existing Midlands Asset Finance business perfectly, where our team of banking and asset finance relationship managers deliver multi-credit lines for major corporate and SME businesses for asset finance, invoice finance and property transactions.

“Many asset finance providers have moved their smaller retail customers to a call centre but we believe customers should have a choice as many customers like doing business face to face with someone who is prepared to invest time in understanding their business.

“We’re giving customers two routes to market – face-to-face and online.”

Established by former minister the Rt Hon David Curry shortly after the 2010 General Election, the Parliamentary Review release has become a key fixture in the political calendar. The annual review of the year in Parliament covers a range of key sectors from a policy standpoint.

It aims to showcase exceptional practice as a learning tool to both public and private sectors, with the finance edition aimed particularly at leading policymakers and business leaders in financial services.

It is distributed to around 40,000 businesses across the UK.
